Court Upholds Increase in Worker's Award for Back Injury

West Virginia’s Intermediate Court of Appeals upheld an increase in a worker’s award of benefits for a back injury. Case: ACNR Resources Inc. v. Knight, No. 24-ICA-121, 09/04/2024, unpublished. Facts: Matthew Knight worked for ACNR Resources Inc. He allegedly injured his back in March 2022 while unloading a belt structure from a flat car. Knight’s workers’ compensation claim was held compensable for a strain of muscle, fascia and tendon of the lower back.
